The three main conclusions drawn in the report of Dr Eitel on his recent examination of Victoria College are as follows:-
(1.) That the present system of education is radically wrong; that it is the same as that which has been condemned by such high authorities as Bishop Smith, and Dr Legge, and that it has resulted, and is bound to result in failure.
(2) That the Chinese do not obtain the benefit from the school which it was intended they should derive, and which alone justifies the very large expenditure
